LOOKING FOR GREAT MUSIC WITH MY PART.

As someone who has been lucky enough to network with major label presidents and various people from Universal Music Group, Sony Music and Warner Music Group, and having over 30,000 followers online I meet a lot of amazing people, and one of them times is when I stumbled on an 'Instagram' advert which lead me to a brand new AI company called 'My Part,' which is a next level and smart system being used by various A&R across the major labels. Being a smart alley Cat myself I reached out to one of the co-founders of the company, who kindly introduced me to one of the top players within the submissions team, and we hit it off on a video call.

Now 6 months down the line and I have been submitting music into their system by two of my top guys, one who has 2x Grammy Awards, and the other over 300 million record sales and an ASCAP Award. Both have amazing credits from Madonna, One Direction, Paris Hilton, The Corrs, The Game, Natalie Imbruglia, Britney Spears and countless other known names.

Working with a major label A&R or trying to get noticed can be extremely frustrating as it is hard to build relationships with people you are not in an office with. The Music industry is a very strange place made up of a lot of egotistical people and weird and odd behaviours that go on, this is talking from experience, but of course there are genuine people to but you do have to look very hard! When companies like 'My Part' are thinking what can we do to cut out the middle man and take away the hassle then this is a huge bonus and undoubtedly a stroke of genius, and I jumped at the chance to work with people who are thinking about opening doors to everyone who has talent and create music.

'My Part are an amazing set of people who have worked extremely hard to get this system built. The company is made up of some phenomenal board members from a former heads of Interscope Records, Grammy winners who have wrote for Beyonce, and co-founders of legendary record labels like Jive Records and Zomba to name a small few.

Anyone can sign up for 'My Part' and you will get for a limited time 3 free submissions a month, how-ever my amazing friends at the company have extended my submissions to more than the 3 a month, I think last time I got 20 submissions, and the difference between coming via me and working with me, is I have a personal relationship with one of the top guys in the submissions team, and we are strongly working together.

Having a personal relationship where you can get on a video call or email is the essence of really having a foot in the door and being taken seriously, and even though I am not saying do not check them out and submit if you like and have top notch music that can kick ass, there is a major difference in doing this via me, and I am looking for great music and producers.

Here is just a few artists looking for music. Rita Ora, Charlie Puth, David Guetta, Kevin Gates, Cardi B, Bebe Rexha, Defjam, Universal Music, Sony Music & Warner Music Group.

How can you submit to me.

Nothing in life if free, but I am not a type of person to ask you to pay me stupid and rip off money to my Paypal to send a song directly to 'My Part,' or to a major record label, so I work on a contract at 7 percent of your publishing per song used. Because this can lead on to you becoming a new super producer, I also ask that I can retain 7 percent on your music career from any record deal singing date for 3 years, and would like to think if It works out and you buy a big house I can come a long for the ride as I changed your life and families. THE WORD IS LOYALTY WITH ME.

I have a very strict rule as I got burned before from trusting people and this is the internet at the and of the day. As a producer you must send me a video (Mobile Phone video if you like) of a song you send playing out of your DAW, then I can see you are the one with talent. If you are a killer producer this is no hassle right?

You must own your copyright, it can not be on sale, stream or on social media sites, the music needs to be secret. (Area 51security.)

'My Part' asks for 3 months with the music but I know how long it can take an A&R to check music, so I would highly suggest just leaving it in the system, and also you must have lyric sheets ready because the systems algorithms work by digesting the lyrics with key word search functions that help any A&R search for and find specific songs they are looking for.  I will also take well made ideas for people like David Guetta and Tiesto who will turn amazing ideas into tracks with their stamp on.

If this appeals to you, then please find me on Instagram and message me, I am not going to put the demo email on here, as I get spammed by people who see this, I will send you it in a personal message.

 SPOTIFY THE DUNGEON SLAVE.

The big news is legendary artists are leaving Spotify due to what we could say are a lot of reasons and years of build up, but the one that they are angered about is the mis-information in the Joe Rogan podcasts about Covid 19 AKA (Corona Virus.) Not only has Spotify annoyed a few big names in the music industry but they have got under the skin of the medical world, the people we depend on to keep us safe from the virus. I do not think Joe Rogan did this to cause anyone harm, so I have no issue with him about this, and he was man enough to apologise.

Open Letter - Danial EK Open Letter

(Part Of Spotify CEO'S Open Letter.)

A decade ago, we created Spotify to enable the work of creators around the world to be heard and enjoyed by listeners around the world. To our very core, we believe that listening is everything. Pick almost any issue and you will find people and opinions on either side of it. Personally, there are plenty of individuals and views on Spotify that I disagree with strongly. We know we have a critical role to play in supporting creator expression while balancing it with the safety of our users. In that role, it is important to me that we don’t take on the position of being content censor while also making sure that there are rules in place and consequences for those who violate them.

(Full post on the link above.)

Daniel EK wrote an open letter which in my personal opinion was a kick in the teeth to anyone involved in creating. He states how everything he does is for creators, sure he created a platform which helped beat the major problems of piracy in music, but then got greedy and put himself in a position where the big major labels could bully him, making him and his site their dungeon slave (TIGHTEN THOSE SHACKLES.)

Now what does not help his case is when a guy who does not want to pay out a fair price to creators starts boasting how he wants to buy Arsenal Football Club for a a reported 4.7 billion while countless artists are trying to make a living and spending huge amounts to make music sound great, so if Daneil Ek has made this much money then why can he not pay a fair price out to creators?

I am not just saying Spotify, all streaming sites are the same, but Spotify makes the most I feel. We all know how Spotify likes to be the centre of attention, and I have never pushed Apple Music myself with my own music.

Then you have the utter favouritisms of the Spotify playlist support which does not help independent artists or unsigned ones, because Spotify are going on your followers, and the ones who use bots like a lot of big names and labels we know have streaming farms get The Willy Wonka Golden Tickets!

This is what you call a very un-even playing field.

Thankfully in the UK, the Government have said there is 12 months to look into how fair streaming is, and the major labels position in music, and I hope this echoes around the world to all Governments, because it is horrifically un-fair to the unsigned and indies, unless you are lucky enough to be one of the ones who goes to the office to work with Spotify.

Yes I respect the legacy of the major labels and some people in them, but the majority of them are an office full of party poppers at an ego festival and most are up their own ass from the people I have encountered  and if you are not in that boys club forget it, you are not welcome and they will look down at you.

This is a culture that has got so far out of control from say 10 years back, so an investigation into the practices of how fair streaming is compared to a solo entity within the major labels is long time coming, and it may put some people in their places who think they are the laws of music.

This is a whole other post to talk about what goes on in major labels from a very honest point of view well away from how the main - stream media have to write things, or it affects their advertising.

My final words are. Until Spotify stop being treated like a major labels dungeon slave and start thinking more about having a platform which can pay a decent price and really support unsigned artists and the older ones who have careers but are now second best to the labels, than we are all doomed.

I know this is not easy to work out a fair price with the stream as people use bots to steal money from Spotify, and how much is a stream really worth? I would rather the stream died and MP3s and Vinyl came back with the CD, because at least we all knew where we stood.

About Me.

I've been lucky to have direct relationships with the presidents of major labels and many other people in the music industry. I have set up meetings for Warner Music Group, had a distribution deal with Universal Music with an in house office relationship.

I have also pitched acts for Sony Music X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, American Idol, CBS, and I work with writers from Madonna, Grammy winners and many others. I have 2 record labels Live & Dangerous Records, and Dangerous New Age Recordings and I am a producer plus do lots more.

On LinkedIn as a social media influencer I have 25,0000 followers, and over all of my social media I have 40,000 followers, and never paid for any or used a stupid bot.

I am using my platform to help indie artists and hope to feature people on here, including interviews, and I talk about the music industry in the most truthful way on the internet.

This page is also to promote our fantastic label music to.

I am very well known to speak out where other people dare not, but this is an opinion and people do not need to agree with me.

Thanks for reading.

Record Label.

Live & Dangerous Records.

Live & Dangerous Records is a record label which was set up to cater for the more commercial sounding side of Drum & Bass and music. Over the years Live & Dangerous Records has done some fantastic projects which have included entering high in the Music Week charts (Pre UK Top 40,)  we was very proud to compete with a lot of top record labels and names and score higher in those particular charts.

We did this with un heard of artists and next to a no budget compared to the millions that go into pushing a major recording artist. (This proves if you are driven and push hard you can do good things.)

The label has worked with the Manchester United Foundation youth choir, and had a very special in house deal with Universal Music Group UK (Spinnup Distribution,) and is still currently with AWAL / Kobalt Music who put their music out.

Moving forward to today, we have a fantastic relationship with a great new A&R AI company called My Part where we are being used to find and pitch music for acts like Rita Ora, Kelly Clarkson, David Guetta, Cardi B and many others, as well as pitching music to top UK companies like Tile Yard Music for their chart acts such as Joel Correy, Sigula and others. We also consult to Billboard Magazine and have sealed interviews in the publication for people.

We also have an incredible team behind us made up of some incredibly successful music executives, such as music legend, producer, songwriter, Hollywood movie man Peter Rafelson.

Peter sold over 300 million records and co - wrote Madonna - Open Your Heart and countless other songs, but we feel you may know this one, and if not check it out on YouTube under Rafelson - Open Your Heart.

As well as being lucky enough to work with such legends like Peter Rafelson, we are also blessed to work with one of most exciting songwriters to come out of music, Sheppard Solomon AKA artist name Jonah, and he is a 2x Grammy winner, who wrote huge songs for S - Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin, Eternal, Paris Hilton and many others. A real powerhouse before all this streaming came out and money was easy to make in selling great music.

Lastly and I will be honest  and say this is not an easy ride with these major labels people (A&R,), but we have the access to pitch to the major labels right at global president levels, if they reply is another thing, but the option is there to email music and artist to them.

We have personally set up 3 meetings for Warner Music Group and met with Universal Music a few times.

Our brand and label networks includes Universal Music Group / Sony Music / Warner Music / Americas Got Talent / American Idol.

We are always looking for the next stars so find us on our social media links on here, or email us your MP3, press release and stuff to excite us about how hard you have been working to grow your fans and profile.

Having a good follow base on Spotify and social media is a major plus for us, as this is our time we are investing, so make it worth ours and yours while.

Our aim is to sell artists to the big labels and develop you for this.

Opinions.

Why is it so hard for artists to get a record deal these days.

(USA /UK)
I talent Scout for. Universal Music, Sony Music, Epic Records, RCA, Atlantic Records, Universal Publishing, X Factor & BGT (Syco Music) A & R for ex head of Sony BMG (Publishing)

Meeting I had with Universal Music (London)

I went to the offices of "Caroline Distribution" which is an arm of "Universal Music Records" a little while back and had a very interesting meeting. My meeting was to go and meet one of the execs there who is one of the people who looks after people who have labels for "Universal Music," under various parts of UMG, but mainly "Caroline." (Global)
I asked this person why is it so hard for artists to get a deal these days, and this is what he said to me, which makes perfect sense when you think about it. I will also tell you how I feel you stand a better chance of coming closer to getting signed.

So one of the biggest problems for artists getting deals is the need to be in the media, and unfortunately this is one of the key things for major labels, and something they live their life's by.  You have to think about the people in charge of A & R and signings here. It's got to a scary point where people can lose their jobs for a bad signing! So if you think about climbing the ladder for 8 years and finally reaching  A & R, which is most people's goals in major record labels, then you make one bad choice and get fired, it paints a logical picture.
It's very common for A & R  to be careful with what music they take a risk on, and what people should have the budgets spent on them. It's a kick in the face if you do not meet the label quota to so being sure you are an act that's, One got a fan base and Two a hit record as well as performing live is the first thing A & R / major labels look at. (Single deals are rare for new artists, to RISKY!)

So continuing  my meeting at "Universal Music London" I was told sales don't really count for a great deal these days regarding  getting signed. (Down to Piracy) Of course they do matter as they put things into the charts and make money and  bring awareness to the artists. But the real secret to getting a major labels to take you on is knowing how many tickets you can sell as a brand and artists.
Look at what "Ed Sheeran" just did at Wembley for "Warner Music / Asylum" He sold 240,000 tickets  and that's one man and his "Guitar!" Now put that into a perspective from a labels point of view!  Would you choose a 99p download or a ticket worth £120 pounds per head, if you was looking to sign a  new artists?

So when I was speaking to this very sound and knowledgeable gentleman from "UMG" he also told me that "BBC Radio One" also matters. The reason I think this does count is because the "Official Charts" are licensed to them and obviously the charts are as important as filling up seats for record labels.

That's why they have "BBC Introducing" to help new artists get heard, and just think so many people have gone on to be mega stars via "BBC Introducing" So it does work, maybe just hard to get them to hear who you are as the artists?

My meeting was only a short one, as you never get a lot of time with people at major labels, they are just crazy busy, but in general the words of wisdom I got from this executive taught me a lot about what you need to be doing to get a major labels attention. I am very grateful to MR? for the time he gave me and it's good to know he is there if there are any questions to answer.
Most of the above was also echoed via "Sony Music" to at another meeting so pretty much how labels do think regarding what they look for?

I have heard its easier in the UK for artists to be signed to USA labels and USA artists to be signed to UK labels. Still don't get this but I think I heard to many stories not to trust that judgement.

I hope this helps a few people?
